Think about getting late from work, and no time to prepare your breakfast. What will you do? If you opt to have donuts with a cup of coffee from the shop, then you are not caring for your teeth and oral health. If you do this during commute for work, then it is almost certain that you do not brush, floss or rinse your teeth immediately after such harmful breakfast. You will soon get the result of this routine.

Coffee and Donuts

Cream and sugar present in coffee offer threat to teeth and gum, as both are bacteria friendly. Similarly, donuts are rich in sugar. They contain multiple times more sugar than other simple sugary breakfasts.

What to do?

You can avoid dental problems due to coffee and donuts by following these guidelines:

  • Reduce the amount of sugar and cream in coffee. It is better to have cream free coffee.
  • Avoid eating donuts.
  • If you cannot avoid then take less time in eating donut. Quick eating will reduce the contact time of teeth and sugar rich donuts.
  • Brush or rinse your mouth immediately after eating donuts.
  • Choose non sugar breakfast, or the options which have less sugar. Oatmeal, Omelet, yogurt or cereals are best choices. Even fruits can be taken.
