Stomatitis is an inflammation of the mucous lining of any of the structures in the mouth, which may involve the cheeks, gums, tongue, lips, throat, and roof or floor of the mouth. Stomatitis, a non-specific term for an inflamed and sore mouth, can disrupt a person’s ability to eat, talk, and sleep. Stomatitis can occur anywhere within the mouth, including the inside of the cheeks, gums, tongue, lips, and palate.

Dry Mouth

Saliva keep mouth moistened. It also keeps mouth cleanse and helps digest food. Saliva also prevents infection by killing bacteria and fungi in the mouth. If enough volume of saliva is not produced, mouth gets dry and scratchy.
